JDS Racing is the originators of these tools. It was found that production stamped steel cans were not square or to the rule dimensions. By placing the can tools inside of the can without magnets, and a few taps with a wood or body hammer would straighten and align the can to the specifications intended. Then using the bearing alignment tool to place the bearings and end bell on the can centerline. When finished this then places the armature in the center of the can. These tools are a must for any serious motor builder.
